Van Window Smashed
Someone shattered the rear window of a van parked in a driveway in the 900 block of south Quincy Street between 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.
No entry was made into the van. The incident was reported on Sept. 10.
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 5
Erratic Driver Gets DUI
Manuel D. Hafner, 19, of the 400 block of east Altgeld Avenue, Glendale Heights, was charged with DUI after he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop for improper lane use and operation of an unsafe vehicle on Route 83 near Ogden Avenue at 11:56 p.m. Sept. 5, police said. He failed an ensuing breath test.
Police pulled Hafner over after a witness reported his erratic driving. He was charged with two counts of DUI, improper lane use, driving without lights, operating an unsafe vehicle, illegal transportation of open alcohol, operating an uninsured vehicle, improper use of registration and failure to carry a driver’s license. He was release on bond to appear in court.
TUESDAY, SEPT. 4
Window Smashed After Fight
Someone smashed the window of a car parked in a lot in the 900 block of north Elm Street between 2:05 p.m. and 2:41 p.m. Sept. 4.
The owner of the car got into a verbal fight with an unknown person in the parking lot prior to the incident, and police believe it was likely that person is responsible for the damage.
The value of the damage was unknown at the time of the report.
MONDAY, SEPT. 3
A vandal threw several eggs at a car parked in a driveway in the 400 block of west 58th Place at 9 p.m. Sept. 3. The eggs did $775 worth of damage.
