Hinsdale Community Development Vehicle Vandalized

Concrete used to smash windshield and door.

Criminal damage to state supported property - Sometime between 3:30 p.m. Sept. 20 and 7 a.m. Sept. 21, someone used landscaping concrete to smash the sidedoor and windshield of a Hinsdale Community Development vehicle. It happened a the Hinsdale public works building at 225 Symonds Drive. There was no value of damage given at the time the crime was reported on Sept. 21.

Possession of Cannabis - Edward M. LaGrassa, 42, of 2220 Country Club Drive in Woodridge, was arrested at 12:46 a.m. on Sept. 22 for speeding, driving without a drivers license on him, possession of marijuana, possession of drug equipment and depositing unsafe material on the highway. It happened at the intersection of Ogden Ave. and York Road. Police say that while they were attempting to pull LaGrassa's vehicle over for speeding, he threw prescription bottles out the window. The bottles contained a substance that tested positive for cannabis. He also was found with a green leafy substance that field tested positive for cannabis and a pipe commonly used to ingest cannabis. LaGrassa was arrested and released on bond to appear in court.

Criminal trespass to vehicle - Sometime between 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 23 and 7 a.m. on Sept. 24, someone went through a female's vehicle while it was parked in her driveway on the 200 Block of West Hickory with the doors unlocked. Nothing was taken.

Theft over $300 - Sometime between 12:01 a.m. on Aug. 23 and 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 29, a bicycle was stolen on the 10 Block of South Bodin Street. The woman who reported her son's bicycle stolen, said it was parked right outside their  garage. She said it was a custom-made bike worth at least $1,000.

Possession of drug paraphernalia - Two Hinsdale boys, 16 and 17, were arrested at 12:54 a.m. on Sept. 25. It happened on the 10 Block of S. Washington Street. Police searched both boys and found drug paraphernalia on them. This happened after the 16-year-old was seen in public in violation of curfew hours. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and violating curfew. The 17-year-old was observed in public and appeared to have been drinking. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Both were charged with local ordinance tickets and released to a parent.
