Hinsdale Church's Money Collection Stolen: Police Blotter

Stolen Church Collection

A church collections bag with $500 in cash and checks inside was reported missing from Grace Episcopal Church on the 100 block of East First Street, police said. The incident occurred sometime between 8:30 a.m. Aug. 4 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 5. A case is pending.

DUI, Driving off the Road

Myles De La Fuente, 23, of the 5500 block of South Sayre, Chicago, was charged with DUI with a BAC greater than .08 and driving off the road. Police arrested De La Fuente at 4:05 a.m. outside a Shell Food Mart on the 200 block of East Ogden Avenue. Officers were dispatched to the location for a report of male and female arguing in the parking lot.

A witness observed De La Fuente drive over a curb and nearly hit a gas pump with his vehicle at the Food Mart, according to police. He was observed to be under the influence of alcohol and submitted a breath test, which indicated his blood alcohol content was greater than .08. 

De La Fuente was charged and released to appear in court. The female, Karen Ann Worth, 23, of the 5500 block of South Sayre, Chicago, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for retail theft and transported to DuPage County Jail.
