At approximately 11:20 p.m. Sunday, a woman was approached by two individuals armed with handguns in the 4100 block of Sterling Road. A brief struggle ensued and the woman was struck in the head by one suspect, while the other took her cell phone.

The Downers Grove incidents are the latest in a string of armed robberies or armed individuals accosting residents reported in the area during the past two weeks.
Downers Grove Police spokesman, Lt. Michael Willison, said that it was not immediately clear if the past weekend’s incidents were connected to incidents in Darien and Woodridge, Trib Local reported.
"At this time, we do not rule it out, but there are several discrepancies," Willison told the paper.
