Felony Charge for Man Who Police Say Stole Wallet from Hinsdale Car

John D. Kimbrough, 37, of the 10700 block of Cermak Avenue, Westchester, was arrested by Hinsdale Police on Nov. 27 and charged with one count of burglary after he entered an unoccupied car parked in the 300 block of West North Street in Hinsdale on Oct. 28 and stole a wallet from inside, police said.

Police said Kimbrough used a credit card inside the wallet to purchase gas the same evening at a station in Brookfield.

"We don’t believe that this suspect is involved in any other motor vehicle burglaries that have occurred in recent weeks," Deputy Chief Mark Wodka said. "That was an isolated one that occurred in a random area."

Wodka said Hinsdale Police investigators worked with neighboring departments to catch Kimbrough, who was spotted on the gas station's security cameras using the stolen credit card. 

The burglary charge against Kimbrough is a Class 2 felony, Wodka said. He was transported to DuPage County Jail last week after he was arrested at his home.
