Hospital Patient Punches Security Guards: Police Blotter

Woman Charged With DUI

Cassandra L. Hawkins, 28, of the 1200 block of Homestead Road, LaGrange Park, was arrested after she appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop near the intersection of Route 83 and 63rd Street at 9:35 p.m. Saturday, police said. She failed an ensuing breath test.

Police said Hawkins was charged with two counts of DUI, improper lane use and disobeying a traffic control device. She was released to appear in court.

MONDAY, NOV. 12

Naperville Man Drives on Suspended License

Jayesh J. Chintis, 24, of the 600 block of North Ellsworth Street, Naperville, was charged with driving on a suspended license when he was stopped near the intersection of Ogden Avenue and County Line Road at 4:34 p.m. after a registration check showed the registered owner’s license was suspended, police said.

Chintis was also charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, police said, and had an outstanding failure to appear in court warrant. He posted bond and was released to appear in court.

Patient Punches Hospital Employees

An adult male patient in the Adventist Hinsdale Hospital emergency room struck with a closed fist two hospital security guards who were restraining him as the patient resisted treatment at 10:35 p.m., police said.

Battery charges against the man are pending, police said, because he is still receiving treatment at the hospital.
