Drunk Driver Stuck in Snow Bank

DUI charges for driver stuck in snow bank- A 55-year old Hinsdale man was arrested for DUI after police discovered his vehicle stuck in a snow bank near the Oak St. Bridge. The incident happened at 8:01 p.m. on Feb.12, 2011.  Officers observed Gary F. Lehnert, of 1435 Fox Lane and stated that the suspect appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.  He was arrested and charged with DUI.  He was later released on bond to appear in court.

Impaired driver speeding in oncoming traffic lanes- Police arrested a 25-year old Hinsdale man on multiple traffic violations, including DUI, speeding, improper lane usage and driving too fast for conditions. Thomas R. Sweeney, of 736 W. Hinsdale Ave. was placed under arrest Feb.7, 2011 at 12:46 a.m.  Police say Sweeney was driving eastbound on 55th St. to Quincy and Grant Streets when he was stopped for speeding and driving in oncoming lanes of traffic.  The suspect refused blood alcohol testing.  He was released on bond and issued a court date.

Westmont driver fails sobriety tests- A 21-year old Westmont man was driving westbound on Ogden Ave. at CountyLine Road at 11:28 p.m. on Feb. 6, 2011 when he was stopped for speeding.  Officers observed David L. Williams of 52 W 66th St., Apt. 1 under the influence of alcohol.  Williams failed a sobriety test.  He was charged with DUI, DUI +.08, and speeding.  Williams was released on bond to appear in court.

Westmont man driving under the influence- 29-year old Thomas Walsh of 1 Cumnor, Westmont was charged with DUI, DUI +.08 and improper lane usage at 12:23 a.m. Feb. 9, 2011.  Police say they stopped the suspect's vehicle for improper lane usage when they observed he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Walsh was driving westbound on Ogden Ave. at York Rd. when he was pulled over.
