Court Watch: Case Against DuPage Board Member's Son Gets Special Prosecutor

Elmhurst—In an effort to avoid any potential conflicts, a special prosecutor has been appointed to handle . Collin O'Shea, whose father is long-serving DuPage County Board member Patrick O'Shea, is charged with selling cocaine in March. During an April 11 hearing, Judge Robert Kleeman agreed to appoint an appellate prosecutor to try the case instead of DuPage County prosecutors. The state's attorney's office acts as legal counsel to all county employees, including the county board. Patrick O'Shea is also on the November ballot to claim a seat on the bench in DuPage's 18th Judicial Circuit. Collin O'Shea returns to court May 16 when he is expected to be arraigned.
Lisle—A 47-year-old Lisle man has been indicted on an , court records show. Patrick Meyer, who was arrested on a warrant earlier this month, was the subject of an investigation after police were called to his apartment on Beau Monde Lane in February. A subsequent search of his computer turned up suspected child pornography, police said. Meyer remains held in DuPage County Jail on $75,000 bail with an April 24 hearing scheduled.
