A New Lenox resident and veteran investigator with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office was suspended without pay after he was charged in a federal child pornography case.

Terence Meagher, 45, was arraigned in federal court Feb. 26 and released on a $250,000 recognizance bond.

Meagher, also known as "trckgirl69," according to court papers, had worked as an investigator with the state's attorney's office since the early 1990s, said agency spokeswoman Sally Daly.

Daly said the state's attorney's office was aware of the lengthy federal investigation of Meagher and cooperated fully. Meagher was also apparently aware he was in trouble as the state's attorney relieved him of his duties and placed him on administrative leave in May.

Meagher was suspended without pay Feb. 20 and the state's attorney is taking steps to fire him, Daly said.

According to the website Chicago Current, Meagher was making $81,580 a year.
