Clarendon Hills Man Charged With Marijuana Possession: Police Blotter

Clarendon Hills police reports, Aug. 12-17.

SATURDAY. AUG. 17

DUI Alcohol

Benjamin Dahlin, 30, of the 5000 block of Concord Lane, Clarendon Hills, was charged with the following:

  • DUI alcohol
  • DUI with a BAC over .08
  • No insurance
  • Speeding
Dahlin was initially pulled over at 10:12 p.m. for speeding at 55th Street and Holmes, police said. He took a portable breath test, which indicated his BAC was over .08. Dahlin was then transported to a hospital, according to police.

Backyard Marijuana Incident

Kevin Hammortree, 55, of the 100 block of Mohawk, Clarendon Hills, was charged at 5:41 p.m. with possession of cannabis less than 30 grams at his residence. Police were called to Hammortree's home because someone saw marijuana plants growing in the backyard, according to a police report.

Police arrived and saw the plants, which were then seized. Hammortree was charged and released on an I-bond at the scene with a Sept. 26 court date, police said.

MONDAY, AUG. 12

DUI Alcohol

Arturo Sosa-Lopez, 21, of the 200 block of North Richmond, Clarendon Hills, was arrested at 3:52 a.m. in a parking lot outside his residence. He was charged with the following: 
  • DUI alcohol
  • DUI with a BAC over .08
  • No insurance
  • No driver's license
  • No headlights
Sosa-Lopez took a portable breath test, which indicated his BAC was over .08, according to police. He was released on I-bond.
