Car Passenger Hits Bike Rider, 12, with Object from Slingshot

The following items were included in the Hinsdale police blotter.

Battery—An unknown suspect in a moving vehicle hit a 12-year-old male riding his bike on the sidewalk of the 200 block of North Madison Street with an unknown object shot from a sling-shot at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 10.

The victim did not require medical treatment, according to Hinsdale Police. The car was a dark silver Nissan containing two white male juveniles.

DUI—Timothy J. Harrison, of 4828 W. 91st Pl. in Oak Lawn, was arrested and charged with DUI after being pulled over for speeding in the 600 block of West Ogden Avenue at 1:52 a.m. Aug. 11.

Officers observed Harrison, 37, to be under the influence of alcohol after he was stopped. He failed field sobriety tests and refused a breath test. He was charged and released to appear in court.

Unlawful use of alcohol by minor—Ryan P. Cassin, of 315 N. Lincoln St. in Hinsdale, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of alcohol after the 19-year-old was observed by Hinsdale Police staggering down the 400 block of East 4th Street at 1:26 a.m. Aug. 12.

Cassin was found to have the ID of a different person over 21 and was also charged with unlawful use of a driver’s license. He was released to appear in court.

Unlawful use of alcohol by minor—Laine E. Lagor, of 721 Wilson Ln. in Hinsdale, was charged with underage drinking and transported to Adventist Hinsdale Hospital for detox after the 20-year-old’s cab driver reported to Hinsdale Police that Lagor was unconscious in the back of his car at 1:05 p.m. Aug. 13.

Lagor was transported to the hospital from the Shell gas station at 210 E. Ogden Ave.

Possession of cannabis—Ernestine L. Strickland, of 7630 S. Phillips Ave. in Chicago, was arrested by Hinsdale Police at 3:06 a.m. Aug. 14 after he was stopped in his vehicle by police for not signaling a lane change on 55th Street near Route 83. During the stop officers smelled burning marijuana coming from the car and found Strickland to be in possession of the drug.

Strickland, 22, was charged with possession of cannabis and was released on bond to appear in court.
