Cannabis Possession, Motor-vehicle Burglary Reported by Police

It was a relatively slow week in terms of Hinsdale crime, according to the Hinsdale Police Department's weekly blotter.

Possession of cannabis—Ross S. Garay, of 568 Hamilton Ave. in Westmont, was charged with possession of cannabis after he was found to have the green leafy substance in the passenger compartment of his vehicle during a speeding stop near Ogden Avenue and I-294 at 6:36 p.m. May 5, according to the .

Police also found drug paraphernalia in the suspect’s backpack.

Garay, 23, was charged with possession of less than 30 grams of cannabis, possession of drug equipment, and speeding. He was released to appear in court.

Burglary to motor vehicle—An unknown suspect entered two unlocked vehicles belonging to one victim from the 400 block of South Madison Street and took from them approximately $20 in loose change while the vehicles were parked in the victim’s driveway between 11 p.m. May 3 and 7 a.m. May 4.

The burglary was reported on May 5 and the case is currently pending.
