Jewelry and money were taken from a burglarized home in the 500 block of North Garfield Street between 5:30 p.m. and 7:43 p.m. Sunday, Hinsdale Police Department officials say.
Some time during that two-hour timeframe, Deputy Chief Kevin Simpson said, a burglar broke into the home by prying open a rear door and took a jewelry box and change holder in the house’s master bedroom.
“Multiple rooms were ransacked,” Simpson said.
Nobody was home at the time of the burglary. The homeowners reported the incident the same night, and Simpson said the police department is still waiting on a complete list of missing items.
Police did not provide values of the missing items.
The incident is under investigation, and police officials are following up with area pawn shops to see if any items matching the description of those missing have been sold since Sunday.
