The Duck Says 'Moo?'

The Clarendon Hills Park District reported at 8:50 a.m. that a vandal spray-painted graffiti onto the north side of the picnic pavilion at Prospect Park, police said.

Painted onto the wall in white, police said, were a duck saying "Moo," and the word "Fresh." Removal is expected to cost the park district $100.

Steak Theft at Jewel

A woman stole 10 steaks worth $150 from Jewel, 303 Holmes Ave., at around 11:40 a.m., police said. The thief fled in a car driven by an accomplice.

Driving on Revoked License

Shamika S. Kroger, 21, of the 1100 block of South Williams Street, Westmont, was charged with driving on a revoked license after a traffic stop for following too closely near the intersection of Route 83 and 55th Street at 2:13 a.m., police said.

Kroger also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court on a driving on a suspended license charge, according to police. She posted bond and was released.

Foreclosed House Damaged

Police responding to a report of a person breaking the window of a foreclosed home in the 5600 block of Western Avenue at 4:58 a.m. found that the rear door of the house had been taken off its hinges, and a case of empty beer cans was inside. 

Children's Party Turns Violent

A resident of an apartment complex in the 200 block of North Richmond Avenue who threw a birthday party for a 2-year-old sustained minor injuries after he was beaten by several guests when he told them the party was over at 11:35 p.m., police said.

The victim did not provide police with identities of the party-goers who hit him, police said. The group left after the fight in an SUV. Alcohol was served at the party.

SATURDAY, FEB. 9

Willowbrook Woman Charged With DUI

Renata Medas, 39, of the 6100 block of Knollway Drive, Willowbrook, was charged with DUI, police said, after she appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a speeding stop near the intersection of Route 83 and 55th Street at 1:52 a.m., and failed an ensuing breath test.

She was charged with two counts of DUI and speeding, and was released to appear in court.
