Another Hinsdale Central Fight Results in Charges

MONDAY, NOV. 11

Hinsdale Central Cafeteria Fight Reported

A 17-year-old female juvenile from Willowbrook and a 16-year-old female juvenile from Clarendon Hills were charged with fighting in the Hinsdale Central cafeteria at 7:45 a.m., police said.

Deputy chief Mark Wodka said no injuries were reported as a result of the fight. The pair were released to parents.

Phone Harassment

A known person sent threatening text messages to a victim from the 900 block of South Stough Street at 10:41 p.m.

The case is currently pending.

Home Vandalized With Food

A home in the 400 block of West 8th Place was egged at 11:45 p.m. by three known suspects who also left raw liver and anchovies on the home’s porch and removed a gas cap from a vehicle parked in its driveway, police said.

THURSDAY, NOV. 7

2 Caught Selling Tobacco to Teen

Employees at two Hinsdale businesses were cited with selling tobacco products to minors after being caught during compliance checks that are performed by Hinsdale police three times per year.

Wodka said the department sent a 16-year-old male into stores in the village to attempt to purchase tobacco products on Nov. 7. Garrett Swierenga, a 24-year-old employee of Shell, and Lisa Murphy, a 44-year-old employee of Hinsdale News Agency, sold to the undercover teen.

They were cited with local ordinance violations.

TUESDAY, NOV. 5

Phone Harassment

A known person left harassing phone messages for an employee of a business in the 0-100 block of Salt Creek Lane between 10:28 a.m. Nov. 4 and 11:14 a.m. Nov. 5, police said.

The case is currently pending.
