4 Related Car Burglaries Reported in Hinsdale: Police Blotter

Four car burglaries that took place on the west side of Hinsdale during the overnight hours of Dec. 28-29 are believed to be related, according to the Hinsdale Police Department.

Deputy Chief Mark Wodka said that "due to their short timeframe during which they occurred and close proximity to each other," the burglaries were likely carried out by the same person or people.

All of the cars mentioned below were unlocked and parked in driveways. Wodka said one of the victims witnessed a male on foot in the area at around 3:30 a.m., but police have not located him.

The four incidents are as follows:

• An $100 iPod and $20 in cash were taken from a car parked in the 100 block of North Stough Street between 10 p.m. Dec. 28 and 8:44 a.m. Dec. 29, police said.
• Someone rifld through the center console of a car parked in the 10 block of North Quincy Street between 1 a.m. and 3:36 a.m., but nothing appeared to be stolen, police said.
• A backpack and laptop were taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 200 block of North Quincy Street between 1 a.m. and 3:36 a.m. The value of the missing items are unknown, police said.
• Four vehicles parked in the 100 block of North Quincy Street were entered between 3:30 a.m. and 9:20 a.m., but nothing seemed to have been stolen, police said.
