Meth-Carrying Men Charged With Hinsdale Burglary
The men were found inside a home in the 300 block of South Washington Street on Nov. 20.
Two men were charged with residential burglary after a Hinsdale resident walked in on the pair in her home on Nov. 20, according to the Hinsdale Police Department.
Bobby G. Modia, 43, of the 100 block of Cranberry Lake Dr., Hainesville, and Steven M. Powell, 38, of the 2500 block of North Nordica Avenue, Chicago, were found inside a house in the 300 block of South Washington Street after an elderly resident returned home at 12:06 p.m., police said.
According to deputy chief Kevin Simpson, Powell was recognized by the victim as a former neighbor.

Police found methamphetamine on both Modia and Powell while taking them into custody at the victim’s home. Both were charged with possession of a controlled substance.
"They did not attempt to flee and they were arrested onsite at the residence where the burglary occurred," Simpson said.

Evidence suggests the pair’s intent was to steal items from the home, Simpson said, not just trespass. However, no items were reported stolen. There were no signs of forced entry.
Modia and Powell were transported to DuPage County Jail.
