$12K Engagement Ring Stolen From Hinsdale Home: Police Blotter

MONDAY, SEPT. 23

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

Someone broke a car window and took a child's purse and wallet on the first block of South Vine Street. The incident occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 10:44 a.m. The wallet had two gift cards worth $50, police said. A case is pending.


SUNDAY, SEPT. 22

Ride, Then Run

Someone took a cab from Chicago to Hinsdale, then fled without paying for the $58 fare. The incident occurred at 2:04 a.m. at Princeton and Woodside, according to police. A case is pending.


THURSDAY, SEPT. 19

Hit and Run

A witness saw someone hit a parked car and then leave the scene without providing information. The incident occurred sometime between 11 a.m. and noon at a parking garage on the 100 block of North Oak, according to police. A case is pending.


MONDAY, SEPT. 16

Engagement Ring, Wedding Bands Stolen

A woman reported her $12,000 wedding ring as well as her and her husband's wedding bands missing from their home. The incident occurred sometime between Sept. 3 and Sept. 16 on the 600 block of North County Line Road, according to police.

The woman had workers authorized to be in her home during the time frame the jewelry went missing. The jewelry was all 14 karat gold; the mens wedding band was valued at $1,000 and the womens band was $350, police said.

A case is pending.
