MONDAY, SEPT. 17

Man Charged with Stealing Phone

Armando Rodriguez, 38, of the 4800 block of south Keating Avenue, Chicago, was charged with theft after he admitted stealing a phone that belonged to a victim from the 400 block of north Monroe Street who had reported the theft, which took place at a gas station in Willowbrook, at 9:06 a.m. Sept. 17.

Rodriguez was arrested in Willowbrook with the phone after the phone’s tracking software was used to locate it. He was released to appear in court.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 12

Hit and Run

A complainant reported that their car was rear-ended by an unknown driver while it was parked in the McDonald’s lot at 935 N. York Road between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. Sept. 12.

The victim’s left-rear quarter panel was damaged to the tune of $1,500, police said. A description of the vehicle and a partial plate number are known, but there are no suspects at this time.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 11

Equipment Stolen from Landscape Trailer

An unknown thief entered an unlocked landscaping trailer parked on the street in the 5600 block of S. County Line Road and stole four pieces of equipment worth $1,650 between 6:15 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. Sept. 11.

Police say the missing items include one weed-wacker, two backpack leaf blowers and one trimmer. The case is under investigation.

Several similar thefts from landscape trailers occurred earlier this year.
