Roskam Statement on March’s Underperforming Jobs Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) released the following statement on the March jobs report.

“Today’s underperforming jobs report shows the president's policies are still leaving millions of Americans on the sidelines waiting to get back to work. With three quarters of Americans living paycheck to paycheck, the House is working to jumpstart economic growth so individuals can have quality, good-paying jobs. This week, the House acted to stop the Obama Administration from fundamentally redefining full-time work through Obamacare – protecting millions of Americans’ ability to earn a good wage, pay their bills and support their families. House Republicans also released our 2015 budget – a vision for our nation’s future that lifts the burden of debt on our economy and puts our country on a sound fiscal trajectory.  Meanwhile, the Senate refuses to consider solutions that would spur job growth, allowing legislation like the SKILLS Act and over 40 House-passed jobs bills to gather dust on Harry Reid’s desk.  Now is the time to act on these common sense initiatives for a job-creating economy and a better future for all Americans.”
