Why Western Springs?

A little bit about why we chose Western Springs to open a business...

There are so many wonderful things about this small town we call home.  Western Springs offers something you do not come across in this day and age.  People who walk down the street and actually know each other, acknowledge each other & care about each other.

I have lived in Naperville nearly my whole life, I couldn't tell you who the Chief of police is, or who owns the deli (is there one?), what my neighbor's kid's names are or that the Bank President next door loves his red wine bold & just a tad spicy.

In the almost 2 years we have been here, we have met, gotten to know and developed bonds with people I hope to know for years and years to come.

So many people ask us, "Why Western Springs?"

Let me tell you why.

Mike & Joan come in almost every Saturday.  They start off with a pomegranate cosmo and finish with bottle of ZD chardonnay, they lost their beloved dog Molly earlier this year and we sat and shared stories about our love for our dogs for hours.

My Dad has picked up Barb's kids & even her dog when she is having too great of a time with any of her many girlfriends here.  My Dad has golfed with her sons and got First Place at La Highlands outing last year.  Go Hudson boys!

Stacy told her new husband Dave that they were expecting last September at table 21.  Baby Sarah was born April 12th 2012 and was our 2nd youngest patron!

John & Amy are in every week, and are some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet.  John has an addiction to Hostess Devil Dogs and Amy has the most amazing shoes I have ever seen on one person!

Allison is the self proclaimed president of our wine club (not yet established) and she pretends she is at "book club" on Thursday nights.  Her favorite "book" is the Yamhill Valley Pinot.

Tom & Carolyn have two ADORABLE twins that are some of the quietest Lil ones I have ever met.  They love their Orin Swift and were sweet enough to share amazing seats to a Blackhawk's game for my boyfriend and myself last season.

Mike proposed to Erin here, they will be getting married July 2013.  We had chef make her favorite lobster mac n' cheese. (The ring was NOT inside!)

This is not even close to a complete list to the many amazing people we have had the pleasure of meeting.

My father & I have been here since March of 2011.  In that year and a half, I have met more truly amazing people then I have in the other 28 years of my life.

These people, they are not our regulars, they have become our friends.

Yes, summer is a ghost town, our liquor license ends at 11pm during the week, the water, well if you live here, you know.

That is why we chose Western Springs.

I hope you all like having us here as much as we like being here.  We hope to be here for years to come, but that really depends on you.  (Support your local business'!)

Please forgive me for leaving some people out, you will just have to come in and make some fun stories for me to share next time!

To those we haven't met, my name is Kelly, my Dad and I own this cute wine bar & restaurant in town.  We have joint custody of a giant polar bear-esque dog named Harley and he loves treats!  Please stop in and say hello, introduce yourself.

We will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary in March.  Let the planning begin!

Well said! I for one am thrilled you're here...this town needed you. Keep up the good work. I'm addicted to the Truffle Fries and Duck Confit.

We hosted our son and daughter-in-law's Chicago wedding reception at Mecenat (they were married earlier in Denver). Kelly went out of her way making sure everything was to perfection and knows all the little "finishing touches" that makes an event such as this picture perfect. We are still receiving compliments on the Bloody Mary bar, the homemade sangria and mini burgers appetizers. We live quite a distance, but we still try to get there as often as possible for the half price appetizers and $5 sangria happy hour. We have beautiful memories of our party and Kelly and her Dad accommodated our every request. Plan a party there - you'll be happy you did.
