VIDEO: Patch Editor Takes on Hinsdale 5K Run

The Healthy Parks, Healthy Patients 5K took place Sunday morning and benefited the Hinsdale Parks and Recreation Department and RML Specialty Hospital.

The Healthy Parks, Healthy Patients 5K took place Sunday morning, beginning and ending at in Hinsdale. The race, which turned out 333 runners, raised money to benefit the Parks and Recreation Department and .

The fastest finishing male racers were Timothy Jung (17:30.0), Malik Dorris (17:43.3), and Uriel Lara (17:52.6).

The top females were Rachel Wyffels (20:57.0), Susan Duteau (21:14.8), and Ashley Gilbert (22:29.4).

The top fundraising team was Tennis Moms, which brought in $1,350 for the race's causes. Top individual fundraisers were John Hartless ($1,000), Julie McGue ($655) and MaryJo Wangelin ($330).

Team DSI (Development Solutions, Inc.) won the "Most Spirited Team" Award (which Patch helped decide).

While numbers are not yet final, Jennifer Price of RML said in an email that the race netted approximately $18,000 for the two organizations.
