Hinsdale Couple, Home to Appear on HGTV Episode Wednesday Night

A young family from Hinsdale is expected to appear on an episode of House Hunters: Where are They Now? at 9 p.m. Wednesday on HGTV, according to Amanda Ivanelli of Hinsdale.

Amanda, and her husband, Carl Ivanelli, originally appeared on House Hunters last May. During that episode, they checked out three different Hinsdale homes before settling on their current residence at 736 Bittersweet Lane.

On Wednesday's House Hunters: Where are They Now?, the Ivanelli's will provide an update on how they transformed their "dated home," according to a teaser on the HGTV website

"...we're following up with young parents who bought a dated place in the Chicago suburbs, and transformed it into the ultimate family home, with an over-the-top outdoor entertaining space," according to the HGTV website.

Amanda Ivanelli told Patch Tuesday night her and her husband decided on the older home because of its character, lot size, backyard and location. The renovations took three months.

"It was most definitively worth it because we were able to make it our own. It took roughly 3 months," she said in a message to Patch Tuesday.

Since the ratings from the Ivanelli's first show were high, a producer from HGTV contacted them in recent months to do a follow-up show on House Hunters: Where are They Now?, Amanda Ivanelli said.

They used the backyard for filming in September since that had been the initial selling point of the home, Ivanelli said.

Prior to moving to Hinsdale, the couple lived in a downtown Chicago high-rise. After having their second child, they wanted a more spacious suburban home to raise their family, according to HGTV.

Amanda said in an interview with Patch last May, the couple loved where they ended up because it is comfortable and functional.

"It has a lot of character but we were able to put our own stamp on it and make it ours," she said.

It sounds like they did just that. And they are looking forward to local residents seeing the results on Wednesday's show and the chance for Hinsdale to get a moment in the spotlight.
