Cine Restaurant Hosts Lively Weekend Celebrating Day of the Dead
The restaurant, which occupies space that once housed the iconic Hinsdale Theater, will offer unique menu selections that salute the iconic figures of the Golden Era of Mexican Cinema including Maria Felix (La Dona); Pedro Infante (The Idol of Mexico); Emilio Fernandez (El Indio) and Dolores del Rio. A traditional Day of the Dead altar will be showcased in the restaurant to celebrate their memory.
Using French techniques to craft Mexican dishes, Executive Chef Yanni Sanchez has created a unique menu for the celebration including Fish Tostada (with big eye tuna, Chilean sea bass, and black caviar); Pozole (pork butt, hominy puree and lettuce chifonade); Mole Verde (a chicken roulade with pumpkin seeds, zucchini and truffle black beans; and Tamal (with guava sauce). Cine’s regular menu will also be available.
The restaurant’s mixologist, Luis Mendoza, has created specialty cocktails to celebrate the anniversary; complimentary Mexican beer and tequila tastings will be offered from 7 – 9PM on Friday and Saturday. Lively music by the Ricardo Lezama Band will be featured on Saturday from 7PM - 10PM.
