SCARCE Electronic Recycling & Paper Shredding Event

  SCARCE the local environmental education organization is pleased to announce the date for our second electronic recycling and paper shredding event.  This free event will be held August 25th from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the SCARCE Environmental Sustainability Center located at 799 Roosevelt Rd., Bld. #2, Suite 108 in Glen Ellyn.

  Items that will be accepted at the event include electronics (computers, laptops, servers, printers, computer cords & wires, coffee pots, hair dryers, rechargeable batteries, other small household electronics), paper & document shredding (3 box limit per car) books (any type), holiday lights, school and office supplies, scrap metal, refrigerators, washers, dryers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, keys (household, luggage, car), Extension Cords, canning equipment, Ink & Toner cartridges, Cell Phones, Eye Glasses, American Flags, Wine Corks, Crayons  (new, used, broken), Altoid Mint Boxes, Yarn, Fabric, Craft/Art Supplies, Musical Instruments, Bicycles, Wheelchairs, and LP Records. 

Items that won’t be accepted include household hazzardous waste, Alkaline batteries, and items containing  Mercury such as thermostats and thermometers.  For details call (630) 545-9710.
