Owners of Vie, Prasino Among New Hinsdale Restaurateurs: Year in Review

There was restaurant news aplenty in Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills during the last 12 months.

Hinsdale-Clarendon Hills Patch is looking back at the top stories of 2013 with a Year in Review series. Click the links below to view Patch's original coverage.

Hinsdale's restaurant scene—or at least its future restaurant scene—got a major makeover in 2013.
Patch broke the news in 2014 that well-know restaurateurs Paul Virant (Vie in Western Springs) and Theo Maglaris (Prasino in La Grange) are both planning Hinsdale ventures.
Virant is partnering with Peter Burdi, owner of Il Poggiolo, Nabuki and CiNe, on a new bistro in the former Zak's Place space on Washington Street, while Maglaris will be opening Yia Yia's Pancake House and Restaurant in the Grant Square Restaurant space that was vacated over the summer.

Fox's Pizza opened in Gateway Square in June after nearly a year of delays, Firenze closed up shop on Washington in August, and a Tennessee couple signed a lease to open a new pan-Asian restaurant in the old Gap Kids space.
Over in Clarendon Hills, The Hills Cafe & Pizza closed in June six months after opening. It was quickly replaced by Mario's Pizza & Pasta, which opened in July.
