Illinois Green Business Summit: Ingredients for Change

The Illinois Green Business Summit: Ingredients for Change held on Tuesday, October 15th at the Tinley Park Convention Center (18451 Convention Center Drive, Tinley Park, IL), is an opportunity for businesses and employees to learn how to reduce costs, increase efficiency and employee engagement, reduce environmental impact, and network with other green-minded business peers to increase the adoption of green business practices. Attendees will discover effective sustainable practices, equipment, and strategies for greening their organizations, beyond the low-hanging fruit. The 2013 Summit will feature cutting-edge practices and strategies across multiple industries to showcase best practices and to foster better synergies between businesses, higher education, state and local governments, community organizations, and utilities.

The Keynote Speaker, L. Hunter Lovins, is President and founder of the Natural Capitalism Solutions, Time magazine's 2000 Hero of the Planet and Newsweek's 2009 “Green Business Icon.” Lovins has consulted with large and small companies worldwide including the International Finance Corporation, Royal Dutch Shell, Interface, Clif Bar, and Wal-Mart, as well as for governments around the world. A lunch panel on corporate strategy will feature senior sustainability strategists from Office Depot, Caterpillar, and the Centre for Sustainability and Excellence, and there will be eight various panels throughout the day – including workshops on employee engagement and green marketing/social media strategy.

Registration, agenda, sponsorship and exhibitor info, and panel sessions are found on the Illinois Green Business Association’s website at www.illinoisgba.org/Summit2013.aspx
