Adventist Convocation at Hinsdale Church

An Illinois Adventist Convocation will be held Sabbath, April 5, at the Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church, 201 North Oak Street, Hinsdale, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The theme will echo the statewide conference tagline: "Presenting Jesus Irresistably."
As keynote spaker, Pastor Karl Haffner will reflect on the event theme in both his morning and afternoon sermons, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Haffner is senior pastor of the Kettering (Ohio) Seventh-day Adventist Church and mission strategist of the Kettering Health Network.
Haffner has a reputation for inspiring audiences around the world with his passion and perspectives. His humor and enthusiasm are infectious. He is amazed daily by God's acceptance and committed to communicating that grace to others.
A prolific author, Haffner has more a dozen books to his credit along with thousands of published articles. Some of his books include Pilgrim's Progress, Are You More Spiritual Than a Fifth Grader, Destiny: Who You Are and What You're Here to Do, and The Cure for Soul Fatigue.

The convocation is an annual tradition in the Illinois Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, celebrating diversity and denominational unity. The day will begin with Sabbath School (church at study) at 9:30 a.m. Events include many musical selections, programming for children, and a youth gathering at Hinsdale Adventist Academy.
