Week in Review: Class of 2012 Graduates, Retiring Teachers Honored

1. : Thursday night's commencement ceremony took place indoors at the Hinsdale Central gymnasium due to rainy weather.

2. : Among the retirees are six teachers who have been in the district for at least 25 years and a communications director who has served the district for the last 10.

3. : Spectators watched the procession march through downtown Hinsdale and listened to guest speaker and Hinsdale native Chaplain (MAJ) Philip Willis.

4. : The school board voted in favor of a statement that is intended to address all District 181 students; several board members seemed concerned about the statement being overly broad.

5. : Three DUIs between May 24 and May 28 were reported by the Hinsdale Police Department.
