Free Hearing Screenings for Alzheimers Awareness Month—Nyce Hearing Center, All Day

Research has shown there's a connection between hearing loss and dementia.

"To make it easier for anyone to determine if they need a comprehensive hearing test by a hearing healthcare professional, Nyce Hearing Center in Burr Ridge is offering a free hearing screenings during the month of November to determine if a more comprehensive hearing test is needed," the event's Patch listing reads.

The free hearing tests are being offered through the end of the month.

THURSDAY

Downsizing Your Home and Life: What are the Options?—Indian Prairie Public Library, 7 p.m.

Got a clutter problem at home or in need of a some financial planning advice? A Thursday night event at Indian Prairie Public Library may be for you.

"Local specialists in the fields of organizing, finances, retirement planning, downsizing, senior care and your real estate, will be here to answer your questions and to give advice on the challenges which are common when making life transitions for you or a loved one," the event's Patch listing reads.

The event is free and runs from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

FRIDAY

Italian Movie Night—Language Stars, 6 p.m.

Language Stars in Hinsdale is putting on a free movie night Friday.

"Enjoy a night out while the kids watch a movie, play games, and create an art project, all with one of our native-speaking Italian teachers!" the event's Patch listing reads. "Pizza, popcorn, and juice on the menu. Call our Hinsdale Center to RSVP at 630-321-1060."

—The Village Center, 6:30 p.m.

Joseph Spellman will be in Hinsdale Friday night talking wine and tasting wine with anyone who drops by The Village Cellar.

"Swap stories and hang out. Joe is a really fun guy!" the event's Patch listing reads. "Bring the kids by for a special (non-alcoholic of course) treat after the Hinsdale Christmas Walk."

The event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

SATURDAY

Kids Holiday Gift Shop & Vendor/Craft Fair—Trinity Lutheran School, 10 a.m.

Christmas is certainly coming, and the Trinity Lutheran School's PTL is putting together a Holiday Gift Shop for kids.

"Parents can give children a budget and our Holiday Elves will help them shop and gift wrap their presents for loved ones!" the event's Patch listing reads. "Items will range from 25 cents to $10. They can also have their picture taken with Santa! And every child receives a special present from Santa."

The event is free and there will be complimentary Christmas cookies and hot chocolate.
