TUESDAY

Millennium Park Ice Skating Trip—The Community House, 12:30 p.m.

The Community House in Hinsdale is taking kids age 10-16 to Millennium Park in downtown Chicago to ice skate Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

"Enjoy Chicago’s 'Winter Wonderland' as you ice skate outside in our beautiful city," the event's Patch listing reads. "The rink draws more than 100,000 skaters annually and is sure to be a day to remember. Skates can be rented if you do not have your own."

Tickets are $30 for members and $45 for non-members. The Community House advises you send kids along with money for food.

Trivia Night—All Wined Up, 7 p.m.

Tuesday night is Trivia Night at All Wined Up in Clarendon Hills.

"We ask the questions and pour the wine, you have a blast and win the prizes," the event's Patch listing reads. "Order a little something from our small plate menu, and you've got yourself quite the evening!"

Triva goes from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

WEDNESDAY

Open Gym Basketball—Clarendon Hills Middle School, 11 a.m.

Get the kids out and active Wednesday at Clarendon Hills Middle School with open gym basketball put on by the Clarendon Hills Park District. 

From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the gym will be open to kids in grades 4-8, and from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., it's open to high school students.

The park district charges a very affordable $2 per player.

SATURDAY

Linly Designs Inaugural "Me-Day" Sale—Linly Designs, 10 a.m.

Linly Designs in Clarendon Hills says we don't reward ourselves enough around the holidays.

"Come in on the Saturday after Black Friday, Nov. 24, for the first Me-Day Saturday at Linly Designs! Celebrate all you’ve done for others by picking up some wonderful additions to make your home holiday-ready," the event's Patch listing reads. "Whether it’s a chair, a lamp or a new picture to hang on your wall—impress your guests with the perfect piece from Linly Designs! All items will have a 20% mark down because YOU deserve it!"

Stop by from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

ALL WEEK LONG

Food Drive for Our Troops—Chateau Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, All day

Chateau Center in Willowbrook, 7050 Madison St., is collecting items all November long for veterans in need. 

"All the food that is collected will be donated to Operation Support Our Troops -America, an organization that sends comfort packages to our troops serving in harm's way throughout the world," the event's Patch listing reads.

The following 10 items are what Chateau needs most:

  • Peanut Butter (28 oz or less, plastic only)
  • Jelly (32oz or less, plastic only)
  • Individual cold drink mix packets, (Gatorade, Propel, etc)
  • Canned pasta/soup
  • Individually wrapped snacks
  • Shaving Cream(non aerosol preferred)
  • Body Wash for Men (18oz or less)
  • Handwarmers
  • Lip Balm (Chapstick, etc)
  • AA or AAA Batteries
