The received a couple of downed tree calls after Wednesday night's thunderstorm, and lights went out for several hours at the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Route 83 and the Oak Street Bridge, Deputy Chief Kevin Simpson said Thursday morning, but all-in-all the issue were minor.
"Nothing that serious," Simpson said.
According to ComEd's outage map, however, there is a section of power outages on Bonnie Brae Road, in between Madison and Washington streets, that is affecting 120 customers. There are also two sections in the northeast part of town—one near Fuller and Franklin, and another near Hickory and Forest—that are affecting around 15 customers each.
Simpson said the Oak Street Bridge lets were out from 11:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. The bridge was barricaded during those hours to keep drivers from crossing while the lights were out.
