Patch's Stories of the Week

Popular articles during the week of June 13-17 included a report of a Hinsdale break-in, recaps of hearings in two local court cases, and a profile of a pregnant woman's wrath.

Typically, I get a little antsy before a week with no Village of Hinsdale Board of Trustees or District 86 school board meetings, which supply plenty of good content for the week. 

But had I known last Sunday night the stories I was going to get in the ensuing five days, I would've been as cool as a cucumber. There were plenty of good ones that the residents of Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills ate up.

Family matters: while the homeowners were on vacation. While two of the suspects were arrested at the home, the third, an immediate family member of the homeowner, was located in Downers Grove later that night with two of three guns stolen from the home.

In other gun-related-crime news: Former Clarendon Hills police officer related to the theft of five guns from the evidence room of the Clarendon Hills Police Department. Ryan, who turned himself in May 13, pled not guilty. His lawyer, Jeff Kendall, said, "all the facts will come out" as the case proceeds.

District 86 dispute: Hinsdale Township High School District 86 board member in the latest episode of her lawsuit against District 86 over redacted special education documents. Little was accomplished; Judge Thomas Dudgeon dismissed motions from each side and the hearing will basically have a do-over with modified motions in August.
