New District 181 Information Literacy Standards on Public Display

Community input is welcome and will be reviewed before the final document goes to the school board for approval on August 22.

The following is a release from Community Consolidated School District 181:

Parents and other community members have the opportunity to review and comment on the recommended Grades K-8 Information Literacy Standards for Community Consolidated School District 181.

The proposed standards are aligned with the New Illinois Learning Standards in the Common Core. They were developed by the District 181 Media Resource Center Directors and have been designed to bring consistency to information literacy instruction across the district.

The Board voted April 26 to place the standards on public display. The display period will end August 22. To view the standards and comment on them, go to www.d181.org, any District 181 school office or the Hinsdale or Clarendon Hills public library.

Community input is welcome and will be reviewed before the final curriculum document is brought to the Board of Education for approval on August 22.
