Friday's Morning Report: Warm, Sunny Weather Expected

1. Skies will be mostly sunny Friday and temperatures will climb all the way to 48 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Wind gusts will reach 20 mph. Friday night, skies will be mostly cloudy and the low will dip to 30 degrees.

2. It's Grilled Cheese and Soup Friday at Standard Market, 333 E. Ogden Ave. in Westmont. This week, it's the basics: classic grilled cheese with tomato soup. The comfort-food pairing is put on weekly and gets going at 5 p.m. See the event's Patch listing here for more info.

3. Looking ahead, Vern Goers Greenhouse in Hinsdale is hosting an "Art of Bansai" class Saturday at 10 a.m. Bansai enthusiasts of all levels will learn how to grow and maintain the miniature trees during the free course. See the event's Patch listing here for more info.

4. This morning on Patch is a preview of the IHSA Girls Gymnastics State Meet, where Hinsdale Central's Erin Morgan and Cayley Brenk will compete as two of the best in the state.
