Five Things You Should Know for Monday, August 8

Get your week started off right with a few important items from Patch.

1. The National Weather Service is predicting a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday after 1 p.m. Otherwise, skies will be partly sunny and temps will reach the low 80s. Monday night, the chance for precipitation rises to 30 percent and temps will drop below 70 degrees. 

2. Two Hinsdale-related court cases have hearings Monday. The Dianne Barrett/District 86 records dispute returns, as does the assault case against , who allegedly hit an Adventist Hinsdale Hospital nurse last winter. 

3. The Village of Hinsdale Environment and Public Services Commission meets Monday evening at 5 p.m. at Memorial Hall. Also Monday, the District 181 Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. at Madison School.
