Five Things You Should Know for Friday, July 22

The weekend has arrived; here's what you need to know to get it started right.

1. The National Weather Service's excessive heat warning wraps up Friday morning. That doesn't mean it's not going to be hot, though. Temperatures will reach 89 degrees and it will feel as hot as 97 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms are likely before 1 p.m. Friday night, skies will be mostly cloudy and temps will drop to the mid 70s.

2. Cleanup from the July 11 storm will wrap up Friday morning in Clarendon Hills, according to the village's public works department. Four cleanup crews in Hinsdale will continue working Friday. 

3. Going-out-of-business sales at all remaining Borders Books stores begin Friday. Along those lines ...
