Best of Craigslist: Hockey-Stick Chair; California Redwood Table

Check out some of the most interesting posts we found for Burr Ridge, Darien, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills and Lemont.

The following items and postings were found on Craigslist for the Burr Ridge, Darien, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills and Lemont area. Note: Patch has no control over the status of these posts on Craigslist and how long they remain available.

Hockey-Stick Chair

If “Game of Thrones” had been conceived by Wayne Gretsky, the seat of the Seven Kingdoms might look something like this chair, going for $350 out of Burr Ridge. The frame is almost entirely made of hockey sticks, with pucks for the base. A perfect chair from which to cheer on the Blackhawks (go Hawks!)

California Redwood Table

This unorthodox coffee table from a Darien seller might look misshapen, but it’s carved from a single California redwood and is seriously huge—status symbol extraordinaire. (For some reason, in the picture, it is supporting a single Kleenex box.) Definitely a unique item for anyone who can afford to drop $2,500 on a coffee table.

Start Your Own Koi Pond

A Koi pond really seems like one of those things that would be extremely difficult to relocate—it doesn’t exactly slide into the truck of your average sedan! But for $1,300, this Downers Grove seller is offering a full pond set: over 40 koi, a winter tank, an aerator pump, filter, a waterfall pump, fish food and more. I’m guessing you provide your own water.

Living-Room PVC Garden

You have the hanging gardens of Babylon, and then you have the PVC hydroponic garden of Burr Ridge, ready to be relocated to your home. I, for one, would prefer your average run-of-the-mill potted plant, but if you really hate soil, you don’t need any for hydroponics. It’s going for $189, all-inclusive.

Driftwood Sculpture

We’re on a bit of a wood kick here today, with the hockey-stick chair and the redwood table, so here’s a unique statue carved from driftwood. It’s called “Beauty and the Beast,” and while it’s basically a Rorschach inkblot, I am having a lot of trouble not seeing something, let’s say, passionate. Passionate driftwood? If you can afford it, it’s a cool addition to your home for $500 out of Darien.

Military Knife from World War II

Finally, we have this vintage knife from the Second World War. Reads “USMC Camillus, NY.” I wonder what the soldier who carried this knife would think about it being offered as “barter for sports cards,” though the Downers Grove seller will also accept $100.
