More info: The Hinsdale Humane Society website tells Capone's story best:
"Capone is a VERY nice boy and currently a staff favorite. Sadly, though, our sweet boy has received his final diagnosis of the tumor on his muzzle and it is confirmed that he has T-cell lymphoma. Our vet does not recommend tumor removal and radiation treatments due to the tumor's location and high chance of recurrence and/or development of additional tumors. So, we are now looking for a loving hospice home for Capone with a very special person where he can live out the remainder of his life, however long that may be, as a pampered pet instead of living in an animal shelter."
Capone is not in pain. He needs to be the only pet in a home, but he is well-behaved and housetrained, having lived his entire life with one owner before coming to the humane society.
