Hinsdale Middle School Hosts World War II Focus Day

On March 15, Hinsdale Middle School hosted World War II Day, an event featuring a number of guest speakers and activities to help students understand the history of the war’s events and the impact those events had in shaping America and so many other nations. A Franklin Delano Roosevelt impersonator, World War II Veterans, and Holocaust survivors were among those in attendance for a day of emotional and powerful stories of perseverance, bravery, patriotism and humanity.

Teacher Richard Dusek, who helped to coordinate the day’s activities, noted, “I know that the stories my students heard about the war, the Holocaust and the home front will be more meaningful to them than anything we could have read in class. We are grateful for the men and women who continue to honor us with their stories and their presence."
