District 181 Celebrates End of the School Year

In District 181 schools, the end of the school year was marked with a variety of special celebrations and events. At many schools, students from all grade levels enjoyed field day. Thanks to staff support and many parent volunteers, students traveled between activity stations ranging from relay races and duck-duck-goose to time in the park and games that left students and staff soaked from head to toe. Staff also led assemblies to recognize student successes and school achievements, such as the earning of the Blue Ribbon Award for P.E. programs, which was bestowed upon five District 181 elementary schools this year – Elm, Madison, Monroe, Prospect, and Walker. (Oak and The Lane earned the award in the 2011-12 school year.)

District 181 also wished farewell to the Class of 2013 8th grade graduates from Clarendon Hills Middle School and Hinsdale Middle School. Staff, families, and friends gathered at Hinsdale Central High Schools for the CHMS graduation and at HMS for their graduation, both held Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Student speakers and musicians began both events, which concluded with diplomas bestowed upon nearly 450 students.
