District 181 Families Receive Discounted Portraits through Foundation Partnership

Through September 29, Classic Kids Photography in Hinsdale is providing District 181 families and staff with a discounted family photo shoot of $150 (nearly half off the regular price of $295) and is donating $150 from each discounted session to the D181 Foundation. Foundation President Megan Balderston notes, “We are excited to work with Classic Kids in offering this package to our District 181 families and staff. We are encouraging parents to use this opportunity to do their annual holiday photo shoot and order holiday cards, all while benefitting our schools.”

Each family will receive a full sitting, with both individual and group portraits; dogs are also welcome. Appointments are offered Thursday, Friday, and Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Interested families are asked to call Classic Kids to reserve a time: (630) 323-7223. The D181 Foundation is an independent, community based, not-for-profit corporation established in 1997 to support initiatives that benefit District 181 students. In the 2011-12 school year alone, the Foundation supported the schools with $124,000 of funding. Recent Foundation projects have included: an Imagination Playground at Madison School, Concept 2 Rowers and Heart Rate Monitors for Physical Fitness at Clarendon Hills Middle Schools, QR Codes to Grow Independent Readers at Oak School, Infusing Technology in the 8th Grade Science Classroom at Hinsdale Middle School, support for the 1:1 pilot program with iPads and laptops at Elm School and The Lane, and Water Harvesting/Outdoor Learning Center at Prospect School.
