District 181 Approves Christine Cagney as New Walker School Principal

With a unanimous vote at a special meeting, the Community Consolidated School District 181 Board approved the employment of Christine Cagney as the next principal of Walker School in Clarendon Hills.

With a unanimous vote at a special meeting, the Community Consolidated School District 181 Board approved the employment of Christine Cagney as the next principal of Walker School in Clarendon Hills, effective July 23, 2012. She will fill the vacancy created by Kevin Russell’s appointment as the District 181 Director of Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction.

Ms. Cagney has six years of experience in education, including four years as a special education teacher in Woodridge School District 68 and two years as Assistant Principal at Hunting Ridge Elementary School in Community Consolidated School District 15 in Palatine. She states that her core belief and goal as an educator is “students first.”

“I am thrilled to join the Walker School team,” Ms. Cagney notes. “I look forward to working with students, families, and the staff to continue the success of Walker School and District 181.”

Ms. Cagney’s education includes a Master of Arts degree in Teaching in Special Education and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision, both from National Louis University. Ms. Cagney also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Fordham University.
