Community Consolidated School District 181 will continue conducting preschool screenings during the 2012-13 school year. A screening is designed to identify any students who may need further evaluation and may be eligible for Early Childhood Education and/or for speech and language services. The purpose of the screening is related to Special Education and is for children who are 3, 4 or 5 years old and are experiencing difficulty in the following areas:

•            Cognitive Development

•            Speech and Language Skills

•            Gross and Fine Motor Skills

•            Vision and Hearing

The preschool screening is not intended as a screening for kindergarten admission. It is important to note that only District 181 residents are eligible to receive this preschool screening.

The winter and spring preschool screenings will be held February 1, Mach 1, April 5 and May 3 at Oak School, located at 950 S. Oak Street in Hinsdale and take approximately 30 minutes to be completed. Parents with concerns about their children’s development who wish to schedule an appointment should call Oak School at 630-887-1330.

May 3 is the final preschool screening date for the 2012-13 school year.

Congratulations to Dr. Jane Dillon, who as her patient while in private practice, I have known to beRead More a caring, skilled, and excellent doctor when I had serious medical problems related to my ears. While her new position will help many, I personally will miss her being in private practice.
