Bringing the American Idol Experience to Clarendon Hills

Clarendon Hills Music Academy, a local business offering fun and creative music lessons, is looking for a handful of talented performers age 6 and up to compete in Clarendon Hills Idol. The competition is based on popular shows like American Idol and The Voice and will give Chicagoland singers the chance to live out their dreams of performing for a live audience. 

Entering is easy as can be – all applicants need to do is submit a video of them singing to the CH Idol webpage http://www.chmusicacademy.com/idol/. There, experienced performing artists will act as judges, selecting the top talent to show off their skills on Saturday June 8th 3pm-5pm at Daisy Days, a popular festival in Clarendon Hills. 

Company president Derek Berg got the idea for Clarendon Hills Idol when his music coaches informed him that students loved watching American Idol, X Factor, and The Voice, and often hoped to compete on those shows. Berg quickly realized that he had the unique opportunity to give his students and all local singers a chance to perform in a similar setting.  

Berg’s hope is that this competition will inspire local performers to pursue their dreams and experience the rush of performing to a live crowd. “There’s nothing like playing in front of a bunch of people to get your blood pumping,” Berg explained. “Whenever I perform live, the excitement and the energy from the crowd make me about a hundred times better than when I’m playing in my living room. Hopefully, competitors will have the same experience.” 

The top three performers at Clarendon Hills Idol will win exciting prize packages, which include cash prizes, the chance to record in the Clarendon Hills Music Academy studio, and voice lessons.
