BlueGrace Chicago Believes in Making a Difference

On Saturday, June 21st, 2014 at Montrose Harbor, PAWS Chicago will be having an 8k run, “Team Paws”. In 1997, PAWS Chicago was founded to end the unnecessary killing of homeless pets by informing and engaging the public and the media to help bring about change. By rescuing homeless pets, treating those who are sick or injured, and finding them loving new homes, PAWS Chicago is saving the lives of more than 5,600 pets every year. PAWS also focuses on prevention, providing over 18,000 low cost/free spay or neuter surgeries in low-income communities where most stray and unwanted pets originate. In 2007 they implemented the first cageless, no-kill adoption center with a welcoming and happy environment, this makes PAWS Chicago the largest No Kill shelter in the nation. The “Team Paws” run is the largest outdoor pet friendly event, and all donations raised by participants help PAWS Chicago rescue thousands of homeless dogs and cats each year. BlueGrace employees are all animal lovers and our biggest philanthropy is for animals, which is why PAWS Chicago is our Chicago’s office’s charity of choice. Lisa Baruch, a National Sales Representative for BlueGrace, will be partaking in the run this Saturday. Baruch’s love for animals and desire to make a difference drove her to participate in this wonderful event. She is a huge supporter for rescuing animals and volunteering at animal shelters. Since Baruch was in college she has volunteered in both kill and no-kill shelters but thought kill shelters were absolutely heartbreaking, “if I can help raise money for a cause that supports no-kill then I want to be a part of it”, says Baruch. She is excited for the 8K run this Saturday and is looking forward to helping raise awareness of PAWS Chicago, since the organization depends on volunteers and donations.

“So many wonderful, loving, and trained animals go homeless and are not given a chance. Animals are such loving and innocent creatures, and I loving being part of anything that can help save their lives” -Lisa Baruch, National Sales Representative for BlueGrace Logistics.
