One of the hardest things about having to adopt a custom diet is the time involved to make specialized meals, but a Clarendon Hills restaurant his helping a fitness trainer’s clients—and anyone else—by building completely custom meals for them to pick up, The Doings Hinsdale reports.
According to the paper, local trainer Lewis Balentine first proposed the idea to Village Gourmet based on his clients’ complaints, and restaurant owners Michael and Wendy Howe, who have run the business since 2008, began taking the special requests on Fridays for Tuesday pickup.
“We have customers who come in and load up shopping bags full of stuff. They come in once every few weeks to stock up,” Michael Howe told the paper.
