UPDATE: Golf-Ball-Size Hail, 80 MPH Winds Possible Wednesday Night

UPDATED at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday

Hail the size of golf balls and damaging winds blowing up to 80 mph are on the way to the Hinsdale area Wednesday night, the National Weather Service says.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for DuPage and Cook counties until 6:45 a.m., the NWS says. 

"Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows and vehicles," the NWS warning reads. "Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely."

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for DuPage and Cook until 1 a.m. Thursday.
