The District 181 Board of Education approved a resolution at its meeting Monday night reaffirming the "safety hazards" along student walking routes, a measure required by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).
The trouble spots were mapped by Patch, and they can be viewed above with associated schools and hazard types.

District 181 each year is reimbursed by IDOT for transporting by bus students who would otherwise have to walk through these hazardous areas, assistant superintendent for business and operations Gary Frisch.
Frisch said most parents don't allow their kids to walk through the hazardous areas, which qualify due to features such as a railroad crossing or lack of a sidewalk.
Do any of the above locations stick out to you as a particularly dangerous spot for kids? Any spots missing? Tell us in the comments!
