Hinsdale Lovingly Parodied in ‘The Book of Hinsdale’
The performance—with a name inspired by "The Book of Mormon"—will be put on at Community House four times starting Friday to benefit the nonprofit organization.
The 2013 Community Revue at Hinsdale’s Community House, tellingly titled “The Book of Hinsdale,” involves 50 community members and is intended as a silly, lighthearted parody of the Village and nearby communities, the Chicago Tribune reports.
According the The Doings Clarendon Hills, the show—which plays March 8-9 and 15-16, and benefits the nonprofit—is keeping most of its gags secret until opening night, and is continually adding and tinkering with lines and jokes to relate to headline events.
Though the show’s title appears to be based on a certain foul-mouthed Tony Award-winner (a musical cue in the above promo also suggests so), performer Terry Goudie told the Tribune said that Community House has “never had to pull back anything back because it was inappropriate.
